Alright... Let's start puttin this to use.
A good start would be to see if this criteria is what we all agree on for new recruits.
Sponsors: 2 - 1 member and 1 council? or just 1 member?
Guilded immediately at first convenience.
Placed on initiate probationary status for 30 days.
Gain full access to our boards upon guilding.
During 30 day probation it is the responsibility of the sponsors and the new member to meet as many members in the guild as possible and to attend 2 meetings if they are held.
After 30 day Initiate status if there have been no reports of improper actions then Initiate status will be removed.
Is this acceptable? Are these the requirements that we agreed upon?
Oh...and when guilded, if not during a meeting or in case some are not present there will be an attempt made to post stating they are a new member.
Thank you, Draco

Also...for those without sponsors as of yet...strangers. I believe this should be done by all new recruits.
Post on our board stating their request to join. Add in why they want to join.
Post about themselves in character if at all possible. At least attempt to do it. Not about their stats but about themselves and their characters lives and abilities.
Included their ICQ numbers...as pigeons.
Council will make contact and attempt to have them meet some of us and to show them the location of the tavern.

I personally agree. I think that once stoned they should have access though. That is why I always wanted the introductions and a 30 day proving period first. The last meeting we had about this it was shot down.
What I originally wanted was 30 days to attend meetings and meet us. Then stoning and probation period while wearing our name. In my opinion I see no issue with this. The person will still be with us the entire time. I've never seen an issue with them waiting.
If you remember, many felt it was wrong to make them wait. I took their opinions to heart and agreed to change it. I think we went too far to the other side but I went with the members wishes.
I would be happy to change it back.
The only reasoin for a 30 day initiate probation period is so if a new members acts inappropriately it will be seen they are new. In the past we found that some new members just went thru till they got stoned and then tried to ruin our name. They tricked their sponsors. Yes...we had that. They were spies or enemies. No enemy will spend 30 days meeting us to join. If they attempted...our personalities would likely show them we are good people and change their minds. That's why we rarely ever had troubles from our members. We were very selective and careful. We also made them work for the guild. You wouldn't believe how many that weeded out. Those that stayed...were good people and proud to wear our name.
And guess what. We were the largest guild during that time. So weeding them out didn't hurt us a bit. People knew our members were the best people in the land.

Ok seems I made a mistake here. I apologize for that.
Crissede found a sticky post that pertained to how long a member was to wait to be guilded. The voting said 30 days prior being stoned. I agree with this and am grateful she found that string.
So...replace the immediate stoning to waiting 30 days.
I do believe this vote was prior to some meetings we had where we had revisited the issue and changed some things but since this is written and shows we voted for a 30 day waiting period there is no disputing it...and I prefer it anyways.
This means 30 days prior to stoning then 30 days Initiate status. Once stoned access to the boards will be granted.

So what I need to say on the website for the new member section is this:
The procedure is that first the person must express interest on the board including telling us about themself and posting contact information.
It takes 30 days and 2 sponsors to become guilded. During that time, the person should come to meetings and try to meet as many members as possible.
After being guilded, they are an initiate and have 30 days before being a full member.

Well... yes I guess...but also mention that once guilded they get full access to our boards. The initial request must have some type of start date...like once the request is made.
I am fine with this.
